MS-Liga Vlaanderen is a Flemish patient organization with the mission of promoting the well-being of people with MS and their loved ones. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an incurable autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. The chance of developing the disease is 1 in 1,000. There are approximately 14,000 people with MS in Belgium. The course of MS is very unpredictable, and the symptoms differ from person to person. That is why MS is also known as the disease with 1,000 faces.

For over 40 years, MS-Liga Vlaanderen has been a fixture in the healthcare landscape, and we aim to be the reference and partner for people with MS, as well as for people with NMOSD and MOGAD, in Flanders. As an organization, we focus on:

 

1. Informing: We make reliable information available to people with MS and their families, we organize information sessions ...

2. Guidance and support: The staff of our Social Service provide one-on-one guidance, assistance with fiscal and social measures, allowances, and the establishment of a strong and robust care network around the person with MS.

3. Mobilizing and raising awareness: We set up projects, actions, and campaigns to increase awareness of MS and support scientific research.

4. Connecting: We facilitate contact with fellow sufferers through various discussion groups and fun activities in our branches, as well as through our Youth and Holiday Programs.

 

Of course, we cannot do all of this without the help and support of all our volunteers who are active throughout Flanders.
